Learning about enemies is an indispensable requirement in games like Days Gone that is pretty massive and filled with challenges. There are Zombies and Humans, both have their way to survive, you are left alone in the big world to explore, scavenge and do whatever it takes to live. Above leaving the human enemies aside like the gangs, you should know the Freakers. They are humans and animals who are turned into a monster because of an infection, they are major force chasing you around the game.
Freakers in Days Gone can hibernate into deep caves, they want to rest for some reasons. During the gameplay you will come across their nest, you can set up traps before you pull them out. Taking every life in Days Gone has XP reward, so it’s necessary to be updated and upgraded.
Freakers can also Drink, this means if you are near a river or pond try to be cautious. These cannibalistic monsters are always hungry. The good thing is you will not turn into a Freaker if you get bitten by anyone. Too much teethes will probably kill you.
Freakers also have a migration pattern, they can travel to different locations as they are being guided by someone. If you came in a path of horde it is best to stay away and track their designated direction. This will help you to avoid major troubles.
There are multiple types of Freakers in Days Gone, each has unique attributes. The Swarmers, they are the common one moving around in a group of three to four or an entire horde. Too many Swarmers means death. Newt are smaller ones, they will only attack if your health is low or if you get too close to them. You can Slow Down The Freakers using Fire, it causes them high damage.
Screamer is the annoying one, it shouts and draws the attention of Swarmers, you will not like to let them shout as soon as they spot you. Breaker is the muscleman, a strong zombie consider it as a mini-boss. Under animals, you will face Runners, Bear, and Ravens. Runners are the infected wolves, they are really fast and can outrun you on foot, best to grab your bike and accelerate at full speed. Avoid Bear at all cost and Ravens attacks in a group. A rifle will help you to clear the swarm.
Freakers are influenced by weather, during Rain they will be slow and cannot spot you because of decreased visibility, while during Winter they can be stronger. So it is necessary to learn their behavior and avoid them in situations when they are strongest.
