Microsoft rolls out new cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1607 as part of August 2016 Patch Tuesday. The update is described as KB3176495, and it includes “quality” improvements and various security fixes.
KB3176495 also bumps the operating system to build 14393.51, but because the development of the Anniversary Update is now completed, there is not new features introduced in this update. And unfortunately, there is not indications that the update addresses the problem of Cortana disappearing from the taskbar or system freeze issues after upgrading to the Anniversary Update.
KB3176495 includes these key changes
- Fixed issue that kept pen click settings after update to the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.
- Security updates to Kernel Mode Drivers, Microsoft Graphics Component, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 11, and Windows Authentication Methods.
- Improved reliability for Internet Explorer 11.
- Fixed issue that may cause Windows 10 Mobile devices to hang after turning Bluetooth on and off very quickly.
Along with this new update, Microsoft has also released cumulative update KB3176493 for Windows 10 version 1511 and KB3176931 for PC and Mobile devices enrolled in the Windows Insider Preview program.
Windows 10 build 14393.51 (KB3176495) for PC is available immediately. The new update will download and install automatically, but you can always force the update from Settings > Update & security > Windows Update and clicking the Check for updates button.
